Type Locality and Naming

Along the Say Dzhamankyngyr, S. Tamdytau, Central Kyzylkum. A.I. Kim, N.M. Larin et al., 1974. The stratotype is on the right bank of Jamankynghyrsaya.

Synonym: Dzhamankyshyr Suite, Джаманкынгырская св.


Lithology and Thickness

The upper part (100-120m) consists of argillaceous carbonaceous-siliceous slates and sandstones

The lower part of the section (30m) consists of claystone (argillites), slates with subordinate layers of tuffaceous sandstones and tuffaceous gravels

The total thickness is 130-150m.

Lower contact

The stratigraphic contacts are unknown (Abduazimova et al., 1993ф.; 165; 392).

Upper contact

The stratigraphic contacts are unknown (Abduazimova et al., 1993ф.; 165; 392).

Regional extent

In the tectonic blocks of S. Tamdytau, the basin of Jamankynghyrsaya, the district of Kuskuduk and Teskuduk, small outcrops are found on the right bank of Kuskumbaissaya.

Fossils

According to Abduazimova, 1993ф.), containing early Paleozoic conodonts.


Age 

According to Ya.B. Aysanov et al. (1986ф.), the suite includes andesite-dacite tuffs. A.K. Bukharin et al. (1984ф., 122) determined the thickness of the suite up to 800m, including in the Dzhamankynygr Fm siliceous-micaceous and other slates and limestones of the Upper Cambrian-Lower Ordovician (Ayakumar Fm). In the Stratigraphic Lexicon (443), it is dated to the Early Silurian.
